With the purchase of the MS “ARION” in May 2000, Arcalia Shipping Company (Lisbon, Portugal) added another beautiful ship to its renowned fleet. The 6000 gross ton “Arion” was extensively refurbished to offer its maximum 320 passengers an intimate atmosphere on cruises carefully planned to provide a tasteful experience to the most discerning travellers. Her smaller size makes her particularly suited to cruise areas not available to bigger ships, visiting unspoiled, uncrowded ports, rarely seen from today’s mega liners.

The “Arion” was built in 1965 in Pula, Croatia, as “Istra”. Purchased by Arcalia Shipping Co, the ship was renamed “Arion” and completely gutted and reconstructed. Her interiors were redesigned and redecorated to create a subtle atmosphere of light, blending into soft colors throughout its new public rooms and passenger cabins, 92 of which are outside cabins. It is a cozy, first class vessel that will remind you of the way cruising used to be – fun, casual, relaxed and exploratory.

The M/S Pandaw 1947 is an original colonial era twin steamer. It was built in 1947 by the famous ship building company of Yarrow & Co. of  Glasgow, Scotland.    It  began its life as a luxury  passenger river cruiser in 1998 under the management of the new Irrawaddy Flotilla Company.  The ship has had extensive renovations and refurbishing in 1998, 2003, and most recently in 2010. The  M/S Pandaw 1947 is enhanced with native teak wood, ensuring both elegant class and comfort. Fitting a boutique cruise, special touches are added such as natural handmade soap and individual incense burners in each cabin and throughout the ship, handcrafted Burmese statues, paintings, old photos, lacquer ware accessories and handmade pottery adorn the public areas.  With only 16 spacious cabins, all outside facing, a restaurant with panoramic views, a cozy lounge and large sun deck, the ship has all of the amenities needed for your intimate cruise on this majestic river. Launched February 2007, the MS “Nile Dolphin” is a brand new 5* deluxe floating hotel decorated in French Empire style.  It contains 63 deluxe twin bedded cabins and 2 suites.  Each cabin is tastefully decorated with mahogany furniture and brass finishings and includes a mini-bar, satellite TV and music channels, individual climate control air conditioning, luxurious Egyptian cotton bed linens, mini-safe, and a large panoramic window that opens. Marble floored bathrooms include a full shower, toiletries, and a hairdryer.  This new river vessel has a spacious restaurant, inviting bars, library, business center with internet access, sundeck with swimming pool and two Jacuzzis, gym and spa, boutique, and gift shop.  The 4th deck lounge has large panoramic windows for comfortable viewing of the legendary Nile River.  There is also nightly entertainment in the lounge.
